Superb location, friendly staff and rooms are exactly what’s needed for a city break.
I WOULD IGNORE THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS.
On arrival we were met but a relatively small queue and it didn’t take long to get served. We were greeted by a lovely lady called Selka who upgraded our room to a King. We were also only charged £100 deposit instead of the standard £50 per day. Note you get this back pending no issues with the room.
I read loads of reviews before we went to NYC and people are slating the rooms. I’m not sure what you want from the middle of Times Square without paying an absolute fortune. Yes the rooms are dated and have issues but you sleep and shower in them that’s it. The beds are comfy and they’re cleaned daily.
If you’re looking for somewhere to stay for a short break I can’t recommend the place highly enough.

The location was great. The room, despite being too small, and the bathroom were renovated and very clean. The bed was very comfortable and we had a nice view of the Empire State Building.

All the major attractions were relatively close together.
All the major attractions were relatively close together. City is ideal to walk. Hop on, hop off bus although a bit pricey was good value. Enjoyed seeing Times Square at night and going to a Broadway show. Late spring/early summer is the ideal time to spend in New York with the weather being mainly settled and not too hot.

A big happening city that lives up to its reputation with a vibrant arts scene and gorgeous early 20th century architecture, leafy open spaces and well connected streets with an efficient, although very grubby subway system.
The theatre district, Banksy Museum, Met Opera are worth every minute.
This famed buzz and style are hopelessly marred by pavements that are stained with dog poo, with a perennial stink of dog urine because NY dog owners refuse to rinse down their pets' mess, leaving it to the rain to clean the streets, thus contaminating pedestrian walkways for everyone

NYC is one of the safest cities in the USA.
NYC is one of the safest cities in the USA. You can safely walk around most areas - especially tourist spots. Learn about how to ride the subway before you go. Take advantage of MTA trip planner & buy a multi day ticket. There are free subway paper maps at any manned subway booth. New Yorkers are usually willing to point you in the right direction when looking for somewhere. Take the 'tour' of the city first thing - hop on/hop off buses. I recommend staying 'on'. You can see all the architecture this way. See a live performance - you can get cheaper tickets - do a google search. See a museum - I recommend an afternoon at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. See the 911 Memorial, but understand the museum is like a reenactment of that day. There are thousands (literally) of other things to do. Come prepared to walk, so ditch fashion shoes & wear walking shoes. Eat ethnically. You can get a burger at home.

It's one of the most expensive city in the world, it's also an interesting city to explore, I notice the different neighbourhood when I visited Harlem, Brooklyn, Soho and Corny Island. Do stop by the touristy places for first timer but visit where the locals dine and shop, Brooklyn, Tribeca and East Village is really cool. Wear comfortable sneakers, walk to explore, lots of shops not on Google map, visit their vintage shops although I prefer those in London. Drop by museums and a must for musicals!! Dislike the polluted air, stinky lanes and feel really bad for the mentally unwell homeless people.

Omg it exceeded expectations.
Omg it exceeded expectations. Times square is busy as its to be expected but amazing atmosphere. Constant smell of weed but expected that too. You need extremely comfortable walking shoes!! Don't be afraid to use subways, easier than the London underground and felt safe even at night.
We planned an itinerary and saw everything we wanted to but 5 nights just wasn't long enough
Must do...one world trade and 911 memorial, Museum is extremely emotional but had to be done
Top of the Rock was my favourite observatory. The Beast and Harbour lights Cruise were highlights but overall the whole trip was amazing

A must visit city. So much to do.
A must visit city. So much to do. Some pre trip research pays dividends so you can use your time efficiently. It is expensive but there are not so expensive cafes and restuarants if you look for them. The subway is great. If you have suitcases embark and disembark at stations with lifts and escalators. Work out how you will get from the airport to your hotel and vice-versa before you arrive
Midtown of Manhattan, center of New York so very easy to get to either downtown (one world trade building, Wall Street, china town) or uptown (Empire State building, Times Square, Central Park). And of course subways or restaurants are at every corner.
Very nice and friendly staff.
The street is full of flowers and plants business so it is very clean and fresh. It is really the highlight of this hotel.
Parking for free (not at the same street) but the hotel will cover it.
Quiet compare with the other surrounding streets.
The main and biggest asset of this place is its location. For a very reasonable price you can stay in the heart of Manhattan. You can get on foot in only 15 minutes to Madison Square Garden, 20 minutes to Times Square and 25 minutes to Empire State Building. There's also a big communication hub nearby (train + metro) - the Pennsylvania Station, where you're most likely to end up when arriving from JFK. Hotel staff is very helpful, so if you need anything don't be afraid to ask them.
The hotel is in a great location, near Times Square, and has a subway stop right across the street. The staff was very accommodating when we arrived early in the day and let us into a room before check-in time which we had asked them about before we arrived. Although the room description mentioned fridge and microwave, the room had a kitchen area with everything but a stove which was so convenient in a city that is incredibly expensive.
If you want to be near Times Square without being smack bang in Times Square, this hotel is a good option. Also near Central Park. Hotel was nice, not quite the same cookie cutter experience as with a lot of the chain hotels which is always a refreshing experience . Rooms were spacious enough and had good amenities. Liked having the ice water available in the lobby to keep hydrated. Got a discount voucher for a restaurant nearby.
We were pleasantly surprised by Radio City Apartments! We were a family of 5 and the 2 bedroom apartment was perfect with all we needed for a weeks stay. The apartment decor was a bit dated but very clean, well equipped and serviced daily! The staff were friendly. The location is right near Times Square and there is a metro on the corner. Great value for money in New York considering the room size.
The location of this hotel is great (close to Times Square tourist areas and a major subway station), and it is one of the most affordable stays you can find in Midtown Manhattan!
They also have most of the facilities you'll need as a traveller, especially things like charging ports, clean bathroom with toiletries, and housekeeping upon request. Staff are also knowledgable, helpful and friendly!
This hotel was in the center of Times Square…close to many restaurants, stores, and even near the stops for the hop off/hop on buses. The rooms were bigger than I expected since the previous hotel rooms I’ve stayed at in New York City have been smaller. Facility and rooms were clean and well kept. The views from the restaurant were all great! Literally in the center of it all!
Extremely small rooms even for New York City. While the hotel is pretty. It’s not a very functionally designed space. The elevators are slower than myself walking down seven flights of stairs. Staff are warm, helpful, and friendly. I personally don’t like really dark spaces but I love the art deco vibe of the lobby, minus the darkness. Nomad is a nice neighborhood
The location was prime. We were boarding a cruise ship and arrived the day before. The hotel was the best value I found so close to Times Square and the Manhattan Cruise Terminal. All hotels in this area are ridiculously priced, but we were pleased that it was clean and the staff was very helpful and pleasant. We will be back in November and will stay again.
SIXTY Soho was and always will be the best hotel to enjoy New York City & Manhattan - lots of cafes and restaurants around and easy access to Midtown, Brooklyn and Financial District. The Staff is exceptional from front desk to housekeeping - customer focus, friendly and supportive. we also will come back a third time 😍
This is an attractive hotel in a nice part of Manhattan. Conveniently close to the Subway, easy walks to Lincoln Centre, Times Square, Central Park and Columbus Circle. Room was clean and quiet. Included breakfast (after a queue at the bakery) was an adequate start to the day. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Really friendly, helpful, accommodating staff. If you have to be near Times Square but don't want to be right in the thick of it, the location is perfect and very walkable. Lobby/bar/restaurant area was convenient and fun, the room was clean and comfortable. I had a "city view" room and it really delivered.
AMAZING LOCATION!! Everyone says stay near time square but Times square is gross and way over priced! This was cheaper and so central to everything. All the staff were lovely as well. A previous hotel had double charged me and these guys were super helpful in getting my money back
We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It is very cheap for the city center, very clean, cozy, comfortable. It totally exceeded our expectations. The stuff is perfect, very polite and nice. Everything is very close to the hotel. We would absolutelly recomend.

Location of the hotel is Superb - it's really close to the Times Square and all other main Manhattan locations. Also, there is a rooftop bar, where you can enjoy the NYC evening view. We also got 2 free drinks at the lobby bar, which was a nice addition.
The hotel boasts perhaps the best rooftop bar in Midtown Manhattan. You a close enough to have a clear view of Times Square, but at a distance which provides some peace and quite away from the hustle and bustle of the area.
I stayed there for 16 nights. Loved how clean it is. The location is quite central. Near to subway stations and just a 10 minutes walk from Times Square. Recommended if you're looking for cheap accomodation in Manhattan.
It is my absolute favorite hotel to stay at when I am in New York City. It is close to many great attractions. It has an amazing private dog park that is attached to the hotel. They are extremely pet friendly.
The James Hotel has become "go to and stay hotel" in New York City. The location is perfect. The staff is professional. The suite option is superb. See you again soon.
